Spring Cleaning

3:40 PM

We never did get any of the big snow that the meteorologists kept promising; or maybe they were threatening. Today dawned bright and clear, and it's warmed up into the 40s. Still nippy, but it's probably quite nice out on the porch.

I've never quite gotten dressed, and now that Jev is back at school and online, I'll probably spend the rest of today's daylight here at the computer, or relatively close to it. Not that I mind... I'm glad to have him back online, after last night's extremely quiet evening.

Before Jev hopped on line, I got industrious. I cleaned up the remaining clutter in my room; stripped my bedding and let Mom wash it; remade my bed, including the feather mattress that I'd dumped in Mom's room after it kept sliding off while Jev was here; I even cleaned up the stuff that had fallen on the shelf at the end of my daybed. Between getting rid of the old Packard *ell computer, having Jev clean out all the stuff that had fallen behind my desk, and the cleaning I did today, my room is probably the cleanest and most uncluttered that it has been in a couple years. Too bad it won't last for long... only two months to go now, until graduation day for Jev.

Speaking of that, Jev's dad has allowed him to have the old Chevette at school, from now until graduation. Why he decided to let him have it now, I have no idea, but at least it means Jev can drive over to the Roanoke area and look at apartments that we think have potential. We still haven't figured out quite how we're going to work getting me and my belongings and cats moved, but it's getting time for me to start weeding out things and getting things boxed and ready to go.

My nerves protest at the very mention, though. I don't know if it's the leaving the nest, the having to get all the paperwork and such taken care of, or what that has me so nervous, but hopefully everything will go fairly smoothly.

I realized last night when I was trying to write a journal entry, that I had forgotten to copy one folder that was on the C drive that we reformatted... I had written a journal entry or two for the first part of March, but now they've been vaporized. Poof! Oh well... I don't think I wrote anything particularly interesting.
