Happy, Happy Birthday, Baby

Today is Jev's 23rd birthday, a day we still haven't been able to celebrate together. I was lucky and able to spend my 26th birthday with him while he was co-opping that summer and fall, so I feel a little bad about not being able to do the same for him. Spring break was a sort of birthday celebration, but it's just not the same as getting to spend that special day together. I gave him a present (a computer game, which he seems to be enjoying, quite a lot), but I'd much rather that he had been able to wake up and find me there when he woke this morning.

If we could have celebrated together, maybe today wouldn't have turned into the mess it's become. I got busy doing my thing, and he wanted to talk, but I was talking to my friend in Colorado. I didn't know at the time that one could have multiple calls going on, or I would have called him, at least to say hello and see what his plans were. But when I told him I was in a call already, he just said he was hungry and going to get dinner, and disappeared.

I thought when he disappeared that he would be meeting with a project group from his class and wouldn't be back until later so I took a break from the computer. He came back sometime while I was away, and that only made things worse.

He disappeared again tonight after we had a spat, but he's back now (just as I started writing this, of course), and we're talking.... it's a start. I hope.

Some time later....

Tonight's lesson just goes to show that I don't know everything there is to know about computers. We haven't figured everything out yet, but things are looking up again. Holding together a long distance relationship isn't easy by any means... but in the end, I know it will be well worth the effort

Jevim, I love you, and you are the most important person in my life.
