Today wasn't bad, for a Monday. It rained a little, off and on, but along with the rains come the pear and tulip trees in bloom (at least that's what Mom calls them... I wish I had Jev's digital camera so I could just show them to you), daffodils and jonquils, and even the first bulb tulips. Our lilac bush is budding out now, and if it doesn't freeze any more this season, I'll finally get to see it in bloom before I go.
I had a few little mood-swing moments today, most notably when we were in the grocery store and I'd stopped to look at magazines. I didn't hear the man coming up behind me with a dolly full of boxes, and Mom snapped at me to get out of the way. The guy said I was fine, but by then I was back in "nothing I do is right" mode, and it took a while for that to wear off. Fortunately, Mom left me at the magazine rack to go off and hunt for her seasoning mix, so that was as far as it went.
Jev left for classes and a field trip around 11:30 my time, and said he'd likely be back around sevenish his time, so I spent most of the day away from the computer, and started in on the Teresa Wentzler cross stitch pattern I got up in Iowa last week.
Originally, I was just going to work up one of the corner medallions on a scrap piece of fabric to see how it looked. I'd finally picked up the colors this morning at wally world, and I was anxious to get a glimpse of what the finished product might look like. But as I looked at the pattern, I started to think that it looked like so much work, and I'd have to do it four times in the piece anyway, so I might as well work the first one on the fabric, and save myself that much work later. It was indeed as much work as it looked like, and more; I didn't even manage to finish it yesterday -- and I put a few hours into it -- but I enjoyed it.
I was still stitching and watching TV and movies when 7:00 for Jev arrived.... and 7:00 for me... then 7:30 for me, when I started worrying, and messaged one of his friends who was on ICQ. She never did answer, but she was set as AWAY; she's always set as AWAY. Around 7:45 my time, he showed up, so that was a relief. He told me about his experience at the car dealership he'd visited, and then he got caught up in surfing the web and cable channels, so I got a lot more stitching done.
Once he headed off to sleep, I played for a bit with Peanut, and now I'm ready to crash for the night...
