Feline Better

Munchie seems to be doing better today. We took her in to the vet this afternoon, and while he wasn't really sure what the cause of her problems was, he suspects it was either some sort of bacteria, or that she ate something she shouldn't have. Since Munchie loves bugs, and anything resembling spaghetti (string, ribbon, easter grass?!?), it could be the latter, but I'm hoping that it's not.

Dr. gave her some prescription diet canned food, a capsule of something to sprinkle on it to add fiber (and hopefully clear out whatever she might have swallowed), and an antibiotic to take care of things if it should be a bacterial infection.

She doesn't think much of her new meal plan, though. She ate the first serving because she was downright starving, but the second one she barely nibbled, and then made scratching motions like she was covering something in a litterbox. *sigh* I'm not sure if it's the food she doesn't care for, or the stuff that's sprinkled on it, but hopefully she'll eat at least small servings of it. I'm really relieved that she seems to be doing better though; she had me really worried the last few days.

Aunt Flo showed up this afternoon, and so my PMS mood swings seem to be going away now, and that's something else I'm grateful for. I can't believe how far I shifted, from Saturday morning to Saturday night; might as well have been two completely different people!

Anyway, on another note, Jev reserved our rental truck for getting me moved (good thing the company is reimbursing us for it, it's gonna cost!!!), so that's one less thing to worry about. I was afraid they wouldn't want to cover it because the main portion of the cost is the distance from Missouri to West Virginia; but Jev talked to the human resources department, and they said that any expenses up to $1k they would pay, and not ask any questions about. Yay!!!

They also said that he would get his bonus along with his first paycheck, so we won't have to worry about holding out until July to replenish our savings after the move. He was trying to figure up all the expenses we're going to have until that first paycheck came, and he was getting pretty worried about that over the weekend. But I think we'll do okay.

I'm off to do some more screen-shopping. Can't spend money yet, but I can drool...
