Jev went apartment-hunting today, and I think he found us a good one! Next Thursday when I get there, we'll go take a look and if I like it, we'll fill out applications. If everything goes well, Friday evening we can go get the key! He was worried about trusting his judgement to find an apartment I'd like, but I think he did a wonderful job.
It has two bedrooms and two baths, a nice open kitchen with a dishwasher (I've always been "the dishwasher"), a large-capacity washer and dryer right in the unit, and an oversized tub in the master bath. Ahhhhhh, I can't wait to try that out! Individual water heaters -- a true luxury, if you've ever lived in an apartment with shared hot water, like I have! -- and ceiling fans in the bedrooms. And since the complex is fairly new, we'll only be the second tenants in our unit, with the first tenants only there for six months.
There's also a clubhouse with an exercise room, a billiards room, and an outdoor pool. Jev took a few pictures on the digital camera, so I've seen the kitchen and laundry setup, and a few shots of the outside and the clubhouse, and it looks really nice. It's still so hard to believe, it's so close now.... this time next week, he'll be all done with school, and we'll probably be spending our first night in the new apartment.
Anyway, it's pretty late, and I want to get to bed. We went and saw The Mummy today, so I hope I won't have any weird dreams. Way too many bugs for me!! I went down the hall to the bathroom earlier, and I heard the floor outside the door creaking, and that got me all jumpy; it wasn't loud enough to be Mom, and I didn't think the cats were heavy enough to make the boards creak, but sure enough when I peeked out, Peanut was lying right by the door, waiting for me to come play with her. Skeered me! *chuckle*
