A quick note to say hello

Here's a note I just sent out to friends, to let them know how things were going. Since I'm so bad about updating the journal lately, I thought you all might be interested, too.

Hi!

Jev and I just signed up with an online service last night, so I thought I'd drop you all a line and let you know how everything's going.

The apartment is great, and we're slowly getting all my junk unpacked... Jev was a little in shock when he realized just how much "stuff" I have... he can't say I didn't warn him!!! :) So far, I haven't found anything to be damaged from the move; even my curio cabinet with glass on three sides made it without a scratch... Jev and his dad did a great job of packing the moving truck.

Yesterday, Jev and I went to the Saturn dealer in an 85 Chevette and left in a 99 Saturn 3 door coupe, so he's pretty jazzed about his new car, and today we went for a drive, whichever way sounded good. Had a nice time, and we stopped at a few different Hallmark stores and I found a Cherished Teddies carousel that I had wanted, but was sold out everywhere else. Mom had said she would get that one for me for Easter, but by time payday rolled around, it was gone; called her tonight and let her know tha I found it. Yay!!

After dinner at the Homeplace (kinda like the Amish restaurant in Indiana, for those of you who know what I'm talking about, but they bring the food to you... reallllllly good, and all you can eat), we stopped at one of the older malls, and ventured into a store called "Clearance World" They had mostly home accessory stuff, and we found what we thought to be just a queen sized comforter for around $25.... turns out it's a comforter, dust ruffle and shams, so we really lucked out on that one! There's still a lot of little things that we want to get, but we do seem to be finding things here and there.

The cats are settling in... and getting used to Jev, and vice versa. Munchie, my little black cat, just didn't know what to think those first few days in the car and at Jev's parents and here, but she's finally getting used to her new home, I think. Peanut, the one we found at the yard sale last September, took to the new place like a fish to water, and she's now the big cat on campus, beating on Munchie like Munchie used to beat on Minnie.

Mom says Minnie is practically a whole new cat, and Spotty spent a week going into my empty bedroom and crying for whatever reason, but that he's finally stopped. Strange animals....

Jev's in the other bedroom, clearing off all the junk I left on the bed this morning when I cleaned out some drawers, so I guess I should wrap this up and get in there to help like I said I would. I'll try to write a bit again tomorrow, and when we have things more organized, I'll get some pictures off the digital camera so you can see our place and the car and all.

Take care!
