The good news is, Jev seems to be feeling better, at least as far as having more energy. He's still plagued by congestion, but he had the energy last night to go grocery shopping, and he even did most of the putting things away when we got home. Tonight he wants to go out and see if we can find a vacuum; I think after living here five weeks (or has it been six already?), that the carpets could probably stand a good vacuuming, especially with all the cat hair floating around. If only the cats would just let us vacuum them!
This week is really going by fast, and I'm glad. I look forward to the weekend, when Jev and I will have more "quality" time together; after a ten hour day of work and driving to and from, I figure he really doesn't want to be dragged around shopping or going for walks or the like. I'm not sure if we have anything planned for this weekend yet; maybe it's time to start thinking.
I spent a little time surfing around this morning, and poked into Al Schroeder's Lives On-Line (LOL), looking at the newest additions to his Linkzine. If you're not familiar with the Online Journaling realm, or LOL in particular, it's one man's opinions of some of the best journals out there, with links to entries in various categories, including Humor, Drama, and Slice of Life. I've found it's really a great way to find other journals and other journallers. Someday, I'd like to write an entry good enough to get featured in LOL, but first I need to find interesting to write about. Maybe I should have done that mop entry a week or two ago...
While poking around Al's place, I also found his new creative writing section, and noticed all the creative writing web rings he's in. That got me all fired up about writing (fiction) again, or at least typing up some of my older things and posting them; now I just have to sit myself down and do it. So much to do, so little dedication... *sigh*
What makes people dedicated? My mom is one of those people who can't stand to start a new project until she's finished the previous one, whereas I'll dabble in as many projects as I can get started on. I'll work on something for a few hours, or a few days, but then I get sidetracked, working on something else.
I thought for a while that what I needed to do was to pick out some small projects, that I'd be able to do in a reasonable amount of time, and then reward myself for finishing them, to reinforce the habit of working on them until they are finished. I started on a couple with the intention of using them to retrain myself, but I managed to forget the purpose, and there went that idea out the window.
[Grr, I hate MSN! It just dumped me in the middle of chatting on ICQ with Connie. That reminds me, we need to find a new ISP this week too.]
Anyone have any suggestions about how I might train myself to be better at finishing things? Was I on the right track, and should I try that method again? Suggestions are welcome!
Anyway, Connie is off to work, and my tummy is grumbling, so I'm off to eat and stitch. Type to you later...
