We never did get to the mall; I was pretty worn out by time Jev got home, so after dinner we relaxed, and after I'd had a chance to rest for a while, I pounced on him. *sly grin*
Saturday we went out and looked around for some of the things on my list, like bookshelves, an end table for the living room, and what have you (I don't have my list in here and I'm too lazy to go get it (yes, I'm still in my pajamas). I don't think we ended up getting anything on the list, except for a tape measure; but then, it was more of a "things to look for" type list anyway.
Saturday night, Jev's friend and her brother showed up, and we went out to eat, and tried to find a movie that we thought we'd all enjoy. We didn't have much luck there, so we came back to the apartment and Jev played some music from various CDs for our guests, and then they looked through our video collection, and pulled out my Director's Cut version of The Abyss It was almost midnight when we put it in, and Jev headed to bed after the first hour. I stayed up for the second, then headed to bed myself, and I think they actually stayed up and watched the whole thing (it's right about 3 hours long, I think).
I managed to get up around 7:40 on Sunday and feed the cats, but I headed straight back to bed for a while, and after our guests left, we went out to breakfast, and then came back and spent a lazy afternoon, napping, and web surfing and such. We were both anxious to get out and do something, so we went for a late afternoon meal at Taco Bell, and then went to a couple places, looking at DVD players. We didn't come home empty-handed, either.... one DVD player, and two movies: A Bug's Life and The Truman Show
Jev set up the new player, of course, and we watched A Bug's Life, and I totally cracked up over the "outtakes" in both versions of the credits (one of the bonuses on that disc). We popped in the Truman Show disc to see what it was like (the menus for some of the discs are kinda cool), but it was already nine, so we decided to hold off on that, and come see what kinds of movies we could find online. I'm a big Danny Kaye fan, so it really surprised me when I found that several of his movies are available on DVD. I started making a list, so Jev would have some ideas for gifts and so on, and I coaxed a few movies out of him so I have some ideas too.
We didn't get to bed until eleven or so, and both had a hard time rolling back out again this morning. I'm still a little sore from Friday night, so I've been a very lazy bum today, and have spent most of my time playing Yoot Tower and doing a little bit of cross stitch. I suppose I could get dressed and go see if there's any mail, but I think I'll just keep being lazy. Fortunately, getting my entries updated won't take tooooooo much effort, and I'm going to go do that now.
