Holiday Hubbub

I've really had fun the last few days, playing with graphics stuff. I finally figured out how to get Paint Shop Pro and KPT 5 to behave together the way they're supposed to, and I came up with a little holiday greeting card yesterday as the end result. I think it's cute, and I'm surprised at how well it turned out! I guess it's really a matter of having the right tools to do the job.

Christmas is right around the corner... only nine days away, yikes! Jev and I have very little Christmas shopping done: So far, my mom's and Julie's presents are ready to be mailed, we have his sister's present ready to be wrapped, and we've bought one small thing for his mom. I ordered a couple cross-stitch related things for her yesterday, and I think they should arrive in time (rush shipping), but I'd really like to get her something nice, too. Maybe this weekend we'll go down to Greensboro and see if we can't find an OTT light for her (and one for me too). As for Jev's dad, I'm clueless... he's got the dimensions to make us a bookshelf for the computer room, and I'm sure that will be nice, but I don't know what he'd like.

And of course, that's leaving out all our friends, too. I know Dee and her sister will be sending us a package, and I'd like to get them something, but the one thing I found for Dee (a dragon ornament from San Francisco Music Box Co.), I can't get my grubby little paws on. Well, I could if I'd just pick up the phone and call them. But at this point, between getting it shipped here, and getting it wrapped and shipped to Minnesota, it's going to be late.

And Christmas cards? Um... well, no I haven't done that yet, either. For all the free time I have, I sure haven't done much for the holidays.

I've been contemplating changing the name of the site and all again, and I think today I stumbled across a domain name I'd like to have -- that hasn't been taken yet!!! I'll have to talk that one over with Jev and see what he thinks; it would be a real departure from heart's desire, but really, I think it might work. Then again, it could be like getting the laptop, with the intent of working more on my writing and journal... nothing has really come of it. I'm still paying on that one (but I do love my laptop; the only mistake was in thinking it would change my habits any).
